Halo Project

What does it mean to YOU when you hear the words Look bad, do good ? What does it mean to YOU to be badass ? What does it mean to you to be able to have the opportunity, voice, platform to do good by the people in your community by giving back ?

BFA was founded on the back of this "Look Bad, Do Good" notion and in support of this years #WorldAutismAwarenessDay /week/month/year we really wanted to dive deeper on how to go about pushing the boundaries of creating a conversation around all things Autism.

We are stoked to introduce to you the #HaloProject and our sentiments surrounding #WorldAutismAwarenessDay coming live and direct from an incredibly powerful Autism Mom, advocate, rider and all around amazing human @rideoldshit aka #ToriTucker

“My son is my light, my love, my heart! He f*@king shines! He represents Autism, so WE fight for Autism. Love it, live it, appreciate it. We make NO apologies and except NO pity. We support it & we pay it forward. Full circle.”

One cool thing we’ve taken away from the Halo project is the fact that you don’t need to be directly affected by Autism in your everyday life to be able to have a positive message & impact on the lives of those around you. .

Enter the homeboy @kennynotkyle Who’s dear Mother Rita has been a teachers aide, advocate and wonderful human for the autism community for over 10 years in or local Vancouver school system. Clearly, the inner badass and yearning to “do good” doesn’t fall far from the tree... 🙌

“To me, being a badass mother f@$ker is living your life with conviction and never second guessing yourself. It’s sticking to what you know is right and abiding by the rules you set for yourself while never bending to what others think or say about you. That’s f@$kin badass.

Giving back to those who need it means so much. Having the opportunity to provide support and awareness for those who don’t necessarily have the platform to do so is amazing and needs to be taken on by us in order to help our community and the ones around us who need it the most.”

“Being real, raw and yourself - That’s badass. No matter what you look like, what cards you’re dealt, being happy in your own skin and making the most out of life is what being a badass is all about.”

@jamesianbaker -Founder of BfA

“Fascinating to realize that everyone’s interpretation of what it means to “look bad, do good” is vastly different from one person to the next. For me personally, The act of “giving” itself is badass. Its a language I’ve always felt drawn towards. The more you become aware of the abundance of opportunities there is to give, the more those opportunities will present themselves.. And all that love you put out into the world in those moment is going to come full circle back to you in one way or another. One of the best parts of giving is the fact that it doesn’t need to be a gigantic undertaking to have an impact on someone’s life.. It can literally be as small as shooting a genuine smile at a person you walk past on the street. Besides the fact that you and I both know a brief but authentic conversion between two strangers is a beautiful thing, More often than not that exchange alone could literally be enough to alter the outlook on someone’s day. To me, that’s badass.

I’m humbled on the regular by a true sense of purpose from being in a position to give back through collaborating with other wonderful humans to push the boundaries of BFA initiatives. Ultimately having a real impact on the lives of people who are directly or indirectly affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder is an immensely inspiring thing to be apart of.

That my friends, is what being badass is all about.”
