Bikers For Autism Society is located in Vancouver, BC and was established in 2012. BFA is a non-profit organization that combines the passion of riding motorcycles with the dedication to raising public awareness, raising funds to support individuals/families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder and inspiring a world wide community of people to "Look bad do good".
Founder, James Baker launched Bikers for Autism Society in 2012 which was inspired by continuing a family tradition of riding motorcycles and the inspirational journey of his immediate family raising a son with a high functioning form of Autism. James recognized the close-knit culture of the motorcycle community was very similar to that of the Autism community. With the help of a dedicated Board Of Directors BFA has been working toward bringing the two closer together ever since.
BFA is now broadening its community support by partially sponsoring the Surfs Up Event-sponsored by RipCurl (www.SupaSociety.net). BFA has partnered with MusicHeals.ca and made a 10 year commitment to sponsoring the Music Therapy Room within Pacific Autism Family Centre in Richmond, BC. BFA also sponsor's the Little Heroes Hockey Academy in Chilliwack, BC. In April of last year BFA launched the 'Ambassadors Program' in Kentucky, USA. In April, 2017 BFA launched the "Spark The Conversation" Tee in support of the BFA "Respite Night" program which gives parents of children with special needs a night out on the town on the house and a much needed break.
